What: Virtual Gathering / Field Scan
This gathering is a time for listening and learning more about the state of jazz in and during a pandemic, concurrent to increased attention to social justice, diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility. Your voice is needed as we seek answers to some framing questions such as: what are jazz musicians learning about themselves or the field during this unique time in history; what do jazz musicians need most; how can support for the artistic and professional growth of jazz musicians be delivered for greatest impact to both musicians and the field; what bridges need to be built to better support jazz as a genre of music, jazz organizations, and jazz musicians?
The time together will be useful for informing our understanding of the field, as well as identifying technical assistance and capacity building opportunities to support jazz musicians.
